Quite simply put the Brigade side scan is just like reverse sensors except they are activated by using the left indicator, when the left indicator is applied the four sensors of the Brigade side scan system start detecting anything on the left of the vehicle.
You can also have a back chat alarm fitted which says ”Truck turning left” to give cyclists further warning of your intentions, the sensors of the SS400W by default detect a radius of 1.5 meters but with the flip of the dip switches can be cut to 1 metre to cut down on false detection and four of them will cover most of the vehicle.
You may also have a speed switch fitted so that the Brigade side scan system will not operate over a given speed, say 20 mph therefore eliminating false warnings from trees bushes lamp-posts etc, with regard to what the driver sees and hears he has a small unit attached to the A pillar which beeps from slow speed to a solid tone depending on how close an object is and an led which when all is clear it is green and when brigade side scan has detected something its red.
Vehtech have fitted countless numbers of these for Cemex and as you can imagine this system has to be very reliable and not to mention robust to work in the cement industry Vehtech can supply and fit this system to a rigid truck for just £550,00 with back chat alarm and manual cut out switch but if you require the additional speed switch vehtech can supply and fit the Brigade sc4000w for just £600.00
You can position one of your sensors on the front bumper acting as a step scan therefore cutting the cost of replacing damaged steps on the nearside of the vehicle.
